Baselines Christmas – page 7

I know a great many Cloudbase personnel will be disappointed to hear that the CADS annual pantomime has had to be cancelled this year.  The dedicated troupe were intending to entertain us with their version of Aladdin and his Magic Lamp.   Starring Symphony Angel as Aladdin, Harmony Angel as Princess Badroulbador and Captain Ochre as the evil Vizier, this production featured what promised to be a staggering performance by an almost unrecognisable Captain Scarlet as Widow Twankey, seen here at an early costume fitting.

However, due to a very heavy mission schedule that has taken the colour captains round the globe in  recent weeks, the performance has had to be shelved.  CADS Impresario, Lieutenant Green,  promises that the production will be revived at some point – maybe next year – so stay tuned, Drama Lovers – someday your prince will come.

However, the CADS Company were unwilling to deprive the artistic community of all festive entertainment, so they have devised a one-off dance competition, which will be held in the Gymnasium on 19 December from 1930.  We have a few sneak preview photographs to whet your appetite for the one-and-only SSC  or

Tickets are free and available from the Welfare Office on a first come, first serve basis.

Negotiations are under way with the colonel for the event to be broadcast to the staff lounges – as the Pantomime would have been - so don’t despair if you fail to get a ticket to the venue.

The colonel has asked me to remind everyone that betting on the outcome of any event is strictly prohibited, but that doesn’t prevent you from coming to cheer on the contestants!

Finally, may I take the opportunity of wishing each and every one a very Merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful New Year.
